Product Correction for Adrenaline-Link 1:10,000

HPS Pharmacies wish to advise that Link Medical Products, in consultation with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), has issued a product correction for their adrenaline pre-filled syringes, as follows:

Adrenaline (epinephrine) acid tartrate 1:10 000 (1mg/10mL)

This market action was initiated following the identification of a packaging issue involving the twist box. Closure labels may appear to realign after the twist box has been opened and re-closed. As a result, there is a risk that a used or empty syringe could be inadvertently returned to stock, potentially delaying the administration of adrenaline in an emergency.

Affected batch: 0161123 (Exp: 03/04/2027) 

Link advises users to carefully inspect both ends of the Adrenaline-Link PFS twist box from the affected batch and verify that the closure labels are intact prior to use. Local procedures for handling used or empty medication packaging and syringes should always be followed. An updated closure label design will be introduced to future batches to allow easier identification of previously opened packaging.

Retain this notice in a prominent position, including in other related business units for one month. Report any problems identified with medicines, vaccines or medical devices to the TGA.
