Drug Availability Update

Further to DrugAlert Vol 494, HPS Pharmacies wish to give notice that Amdipharm Mercury Australia is continuing to experience a supply interruption for tranylcypromine tablets as follows:

Normal supplies are expected to resume in early November 2019. Two internationally registered brands of tranylcypromine tablets have been approved for supply under Section 19A of the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989. However, these supplies have now been exhausted and there is currently no expected date of return. The only tranylcypromine tablets currently available must be sourced through the Special Access Scheme (SAS) following completion of the appropriate paperwork.

Retain this notice in a prominent position, including in other related business units until supplies return to normal. Report any problems identified with medicines, vaccines or medical devices to the TGA.
