Availability of Tambocor® Ampoules

HPS Pharmacies wish to advise that iNova Pharmaceuticals Australia is experiencing a supply interruption for Tambocor^® as follows:

Normal supplies of Tambocor^® are expected to return by the end of April 2025.

Internationally registered alternatives of flecainide acetate 150 mg/15 mL (10 mg/1 mL) injection ampoule are available under the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) Special Access Scheme (SAS) from Germany and Belgium via Medsurge, and from Germany via Link.

The SAS alternatives are identical in active ingredient and excipients, but differ in storage conditions (below 25°C as opposed to below 30°C) and are not labelled in English. Please note, the SAS alternatives have long lead times of approximately 15 to 21 business days.

Retain this notice in a prominent position, including in other related business units until supplies return to normal. Report any problems identified with medicines, vaccines or medical devices to the TGA.
