Discontinuation of Tinidazole

HPS Pharmacies wish to give notice that Pfizer Australia has discontinued both brands of tinidazole tablets as follows:

Fasigyn^® Tablets

ARTG 48414

Tinidazole is a nitroimidazole antibiotic that is bactericidal against anaerobes and protozoa. It has a similar spectrum of activity to metronidazole, which may be an appropriate alternative in some cases.
