HPS Pharmacies wish to advise that Perrigo Australia is anticipating a supply interruption for all Riodine® products, including:
- Riodine® Povidone‐Iodine Solution 10% 100mL;
- Riodine® Povidone‐Iodine Solution 10% 500mL;
- Riodine® Povidone‐Iodine Solution 10% 15mL; and
- Riodine® Antiseptic Ointment (tube) 25g
Perrigo has received advice from their supplier of a stock shortage, with further supplies not expected until Quarter 2 of 2023. Perrigo is currently investigating alternative supply sources. However, the available volume is unlikely to meet demands, and there will be delays due to material testing.
HPS Pharmacies currently has access to a prioritised supply of Riodine®. However, Perrigo advises that they may not be able to fulfil some future orders. Perrigo requests hospitals not to increase their orders of Riodine® as this will bring forward the anticipated out-of-stock situation.
Retain this notice in a prominent position, including in other related business units until supplies return to normal. Report any problems identified with medicines, vaccines or medical devices to the TGA.
