HPS Pharmacies wish to give notice that Ferring Pharmaceuticals are currently experiencing an interruption to the supply of Minirin^® Nasal Spray as follows:

Minirin^® Nasal Spray
Desmopressin acetate 10mcg/spray
ARTG 59320

This supply interruption is due to a precautionary global recall of the product. Following testing of samples of Minirin^® Nasal Spray supplied overseas, a low volume and of out-of-specification results for desmopressin content was observed in some vials. Ferring has initiated, in collaboration with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), a precautionary recall of potentially affected batches from the Australian market.

As there is currently no replacement batch available, consideration of the following alternative presentations of desmopressin may be required:

• Minirin^® Tablets
• Minirin^® Melt
• Minirin^® Nasal Drops

The approved indications vary for these formulations; the product information should be consulted for appropriate use.

Retain this notice in a prominent position, including in other related business units until supplies return to normal. Report any problems identified with medicines, vaccines or medical devices to the TGA.
