Availability of Diazepam Rectal Solution

HPS Pharmacies wish to advise that Perrigo Australia is experiencing a supply interruption of Diazepam Rectal Solution, as follows:

Diazepam Rectal Solution, 5mL
Diazepam 5mg/5ml

This supply interruption is due to the identification of an atypical product stability trend which may impact the product meeting its specification shelf life. Therefore, Perrigo has suspended production of the product until an investigation has been completed and any necessary changes to production procedures implemented.

The current advice from Perrigo’s Quality Assurance team is that the issue does not affect batches of the product which have been supplied to the market. Due to the nature of the review required, Perrigo is not yet able to provide an expected date for return of normal supplies.

Retain this notice in a prominent position, including in other related business until supplies return to normal. Report any problems identified with medicines, vaccines or medical devices to the TGA.
