HPS Pharmacies wish to give notice that suppliers are experiencing a supply interruption for bromhexine oral liquid products, including:
- Bisolvon® Chesty (0.8mg/mL)
- Bisolvon® Chesty Kids (0.8mg/mL)
- Duro-Tuss® Chesty (0.8mg/mL)
- Bisolvon® Chesty Forte (1.6mg/mL)
- Duro-Tuss® Chesty Double Strength (1.6mg/mL)
- Apohealth® Chesty Mucus Relief Forte (1.6mg/mL)
An estimated return date for normal supply is not yet available for all brands. However, Bisolvon Chesty Forte® is expected to return to stock by the end of May 2023.
Bromhexine is currently available as an oral liquid in combination with guaifenesin e.g. Duro-Tuss Chesty Forte (bromhexine 0.8mg/mL + guaifenesin 20mg/mL). Bromhexine is also available as a single ingredient oral tablet.
Retain this notice in a prominent position, including in other related business units until supplies return to normal. Report any problems identified with medicines, vaccines or medical devices to the TGA.
