Drug Availability

HPS Pharmacies wish to give notice that Seqirus is experiencing a supply interruption for BenPen^™ as follows:

BenPen^™ Vials
Benzylpenicillin (as sodium) 1.2g
ARTG 10326

Supplies of BenPen^™ 1.2g vials are currently limited due to a global supply disruption.  Normal supplies are expected to resume by December 2019. While wholesaler stocks of BenPen^™ 1.2g vials are restricted, HPS Pharmacies has access to a limited supply for the benefit of our clients.

It is anticipated that supplies of BenPen^™ 600mg and BenPen^™ 3g vials will also experience some supply issues in the coming months. However, these products are currently available and may be considered as a substitute where appropriate. If a suitable presentation of benzylpenicillin is not available, an Infectious Disease specialist should be consulted for advice.

Retain this notice in a prominent position, including in other related business units until supplies return to normal. Report any problems identified with medicines, vaccines or medical devices to the TGA.
