Availability of Aciclovir Eye Ointment

HPS Pharmacies wish to give notice that Medsurge has discontinued AciVision^® eye ointment as follows:

AciVision^® Eye Ointment
Aciclovir 3%

AciVision^® eye ointment was approved for supply under Section 19A of the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 following the discontinuation of Zovirax^® eye ointment. The alternative brands, ViruPOS^® and Xorox^®, have now been registered with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and are available for use. However, these brands are currently not subsidised on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).

Retain this notice in a prominent position, including in other related business units for one month. Report any problems identified with medicines, vaccines or medical devices to the TGA.
