Drug Recall


HPS Pharmacies wish to advise that Apotex, in consultation with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) have given notice of a drug recall of:

APO-Paracetamol® 500mg tablets
Paracetamol 500mg
ARTG 156815

The only affected batch is: X40466 with an expiry date of May 2016.

This recall is in response to a customer complaint of a latex piece embedded in a tablet. The manufacturer believes this to be an isolated incident, however has initiated a recall due to the potential allergy risk.

Please inspect your stocks and quarantine all products from the affected batch for return to your supplier for a refund.

Retain this notice in a prominent position, including in other related business units for one month. Report any problems identified with medicines, vaccines or medical devices to the TGA.
