Drug Recall

 

HPS Pharmacies wish to advise that Ascent Pharmaceuticals, in conjunction with the TGA, have given notice of a voluntary drug recall of:

Febridol paracetamol® tablets, bottle

Contents paracetamol, 500mg
Aust R 207317
Batch No. ACN2134
Expiry Date August 2014

 

This recall has been issued because it has been found that bottles from this batch may also contain peach (orange/pink) coloured, triangular tablets, which have not yet been identified. Febridol paracetamol® 500mg tablets are white coloured, round shaped, uncoated, engraved with ‘Paracetamol 500’ on one side and scored on other side.

No other batches of Febridol paracetamol® 500mg, either in 100 tablet bottles or 100 tablet blister packs, are affected by this recall.

Please inspect your stocks and quarantine all bottles from the batch specified above for return to your supplier, who will arrange for refund or replacement. Any bottles from this batch supplied by HPS Pharmacies should be returned to the pharmacy for processing.

Retain this notice in a prominent position, including other related business units for one month in case stock is in transit. Report any problems identified with medicines, vaccines or medical devices to the TGA.
