HPS Pharmacies wish to advise that Mundipharma Australia has given notice of the discontinuation of:

Dilaudid®– HP 50mg/5mL Ampoules
Hydromorphone hydrochloride
ARTG 67358

Dilaudid®-HP 50mg/5mL will no longer be available from mid-2017 due to a change in manufacturer. This product will be permanently replaced with a more concentrated formulation containing hydromorphone 50mg/mL. The new formulation will be available from 1st August 2017.

Dilaudid®-HP 50mg/mL concentrated solution for injection must be diluted before administration. Appropriate sterile diluents include 0.9% sodium chloride, 5% dextrose, and water for injections. The following table highlights some of the other differences between these products. This should be reviewed in conjunction with the product information and formulation advice.

Please retain this notice in a prominent position, including in other related business units for one month. Report any problems identified with medicines, vaccines or medical devices to the TGA.
